Environment

The safe disposal of redundant car spares, such as tyres, exhausts, batteries, brakes, etc, is a major environmental problem facing the motor industry today.

We must all do our part. That's why at Chemix Autocentres we choose to use the services of reputable, certified, disposal agents who ensure that redundant car parts removed from our customers’ vehicles are disposed off in the most environmentally sound manner.  For example, all of our tyres are stripped of wire (for re-use of metals) and shredded for rubber (for re-use as surfacing on childrens’ playgrounds and pathways).

Keeping in mind the long term consequences of failing to dispose of parts safely, we believe the immediate costs of providing this environmentally friendly service are a worthwhile investment in all our futures.

To help towards our costs of this valuable service, we ask our customers to accept an EDC/CDC charge (environmental/car-parts disposal charge) on redundant items removed from their vehicles. You may choose not to pay this charge, in which case, we will return any redundant items to you. However, to ensure that we comply with current legislation, you will be asked to sign and confirm that you will take responsibility for the safe disposal of such items. (These details must be kept on our files and may be inspected by the relevant authorities).

Your support and co-operation in providing a safe environment for the community is much appreciated.
